Take a look back at the moments that made our band community shine! Our Past Events section highlights performances, celebrations, and special activities from throughout the year. It’s a great place to revisit memories, see what our students have accomplished, and stay connected to the ongoing story of the CMS Band Program.
The Music In Our Schools Month Concert on March 25 was a tremendous success, bringing together students, families, and the community for an evening of outstanding performances.
Our 5th, 7th, and 8th-grade musicians joined performers from across the district to showcase their talent, commitment, and the strength of our music programs. The event was well attended, with strong support from families and the community.
In addition to the performances, concessions, candy grams, the Wawa gift basket raffle, and the 50/50 raffle were all a big success, raising valuable funds to support our school music programs.
Thank you to our students, directors, volunteers, and families who helped make the evening run smoothly and created such a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Our Middle School Indoor programs continue to impress as students showcase their talent, discipline, and growth throughout the season.
The momentum continues as the groups return to competition at Gateway Regional and Chapter Championships in April.
CMS Students Shine at PMEA 5/6 BandFest
The PMEA 5th/6th Grade BandFest was an incredible experience for our CMS students. From the first rehearsals through the final performance, the entire process was both meaningful and memorable.
Performing at Drexel Hill Middle School alongside talented young musicians from across Delaware County, our students rose to the occasion. They came away feeling proud, inspired, and energized by the opportunity.
Experiences like this go far beyond the music. They build confidence, foster connection, and deepen students’ appreciation for the arts. We are so proud of how our students represented CMS through their musicianship, character, and commitment.
Congratulations again to our selected students:
Lily Blanford, Mikaela Brown, Lukas Chaney, Joseph Closs, Violet Guzowski, and Caleb Sprague.
A truly awesome festival and an experience our students will carry with them for years to come.
CMS Band Spreads Holiday Cheer
Members of the 7th and 8th-grade band brought holiday cheer to CMS with a traditional Christmas caroling journey through the hallways. Students performed festive selections that showcased their musicianship and helped spread seasonal spirit throughout the school.
The performance was led by Mr. Knecht, with Mr. Cummings and Mr. Carano joining, and featured special guest performers from the 5th and 6th grades on jingle bells, adding an extra touch of fun and collaboration.
A special thank you to Meghan Lindner for chaperoning and capturing photos from the event.
The CMS Band and Band Booster Association wishes all CMS families a happy New Year and a smooth return to the school year.
