PMEA Band Fest

Congratulations to our CMS students selected for the PMEA 5th/6th Grade BandFest. This honor is based on musical skill, responsibility, strong character, and positive citizenship within the band program.

Selected Students:
5th Grade: Lily Blanford, Joseph Closs, Violet Guzowski
6th Grade: Mikaela Brown, Lukas Chaney, Caleb Sprague

These students will rehearse throughout the winter and perform with other young musicians from across the county on March 19th at Drexel Hill Middle School. (Snow date: March 26).

Students not selected this year will still have plenty of performance opportunities here at CMS, along with additional festival options next year.

PMEA District 12 Delco 5/6 Grade BandFest

Thursday, March 19

Transportation: Parents must arrange transportation for their child to Drexel Hill Middle School that morning
Registration: Begins at 9:00 AM — please do not arrive before 8:50 AM, as earlier arrivals will interfere with the school’s morning bus drop-off
Drop-Off: Use the side parking lot at the front of the school and park along the edge for quick drop-off
Lunch: Students must bring a packed lunch
Dress: Comfortable school clothes during the day; bring black pants, black socks, and black shoes for the evening concert
Festival Shirt: Students will receive a PMEA Festival shirt to wear during the day and for the evening concert
Concert: Begins at 7:00 PM

Update Januaury 2026

Families should review the BandFest registration information in the email sent by Mr. Knecht. Links to the registration portal, medication form (if needed), and the official festival website are included. All PMEA BandFest students must complete the online registration through Arbiter by January 23, though earlier completion (before Winter Break) is strongly encouraged.

After-school rehearsals for BandFest students have begun and will run until 4:30 PM. Beginning in January, rehearsals will be held most weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and students may attend whichever day works best for their schedule. The full December and January rehearsal calendars are posted on the Forms & Docs page.

On the day of the festival, Thursday, March 19, 2026, students will rehearse at Drexel Hill Middle School and present an evening concert at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be available online only as the event approaches; CMS families will receive the link once it is released.
