Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
Welcome back! I’m excited to begin another school year and build on the successes of last year. We have a lot to look forward to, and I’m excited to have our students back making music together.
Team teaching 5th Grade Band with Mr. Cummings as the lead teacher was a great success last year, and we’re excited to welcome an even larger 5th Grade class this year. We’re looking forward to seeing what they accomplish!
There are some exciting opportunities on the horizon for our Middle School musicians.
Jazz Band
Jazz Band is open to students in Grades 6–8 and gets underway early in the school year. Students and families should watch for information about participation, rehearsals, and performances.
Homecoming Performance
Our 7th and 8th Grade Band members have the opportunity to perform side by side with the High School Band during Homecoming. It’s always a great experience for our students and a chance to be part of the larger Chichester Band community.

Welcome to the 2026–2027 Elementary Band Year!
Welcome to a new school year and another exciting year of music! I’m thrilled to welcome our returning 5th Grade Band students and our new 4th Grade musicians from Hilltop, Linwood, Boothwyn, and Marcus Hook Elementary Schools.
For our 5th Grade Band students, this year is an opportunity to build on everything you learned last year, continue developing your skills, and take on new musical challenges. I’m looking forward to seeing how much you grow as musicians and as an ensemble!
For our 4th Grade students, an exciting new adventure is beginning! Whether you already know which instrument you would like to play or are just beginning to explore the possibilities, band is a chance to learn something new, make music with your classmates, and discover what you can accomplish through practice and perseverance.
Throughout the year, students will learn new notes and rhythms, develop their individual skills, rehearse together as an ensemble, and work toward sharing their music in performance.
Families play an important role in that journey as well. Your encouragement and support at home make a tremendous difference, and I look forward to working together to make this a successful and rewarding year for our young musicians.
I can’t wait to get started. Here’s to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of music!
