Band Director's Corner

We’re looking forward to another great year at Chichester Middle School and are excited to build on the wonderful accomplishments of our students from last year!

This year, Mr. Cummings joins us at the Middle School every morning as we team-teach 5th Grade Band, where he serves as Lead Director. This collaboration strengthens our alignment with national standards and best practices for instrumental music.

We’re also thrilled to welcome Ms. Nehama Dormont, our new High School Band Director, making this an exciting time for the entire Chichester Instrumental Music Program.

For important dates, grading information, and classroom details, please review the Band Contract and Syllabus on the Forms & Documents page. You’ll find performance dates listed at the top. Please mark them on your calendar early to help avoid scheduling conflicts.

I am proud to serve as the 4th and 5th Grade Band Director in the Chichester School District. 

Each morning, I begin my day at the Middle School working with the 5th Grade Band, then travel to our elementary schools to provide 30-minute lessons for 4th Grade Band students, helping them build skills and confidence as they begin their instrumental music journey.

It is my hope that your child continues with the band program beyond 4th and 5th grade. As students move into the Middle School and High School programs, they gain opportunities to participate in higher-level music experiences, including Jazz Band, Marching Band, Indoor Drumline, Indoor Color Guard, and more.

Throughout the school year, I will share important updates and information here and on the Forms & Documents page Please check back regularly to stay informed about upcoming events and important announcements.
