Welcome to the CMS Band Beat — your home for everything happening in the Chichester Middle School Band program.

Here, students and families can find rehearsal schedules, performance dates, event updates, and announcements for all our Band, Jazz, and Indoor programs. You’ll also find a dedicated section from the CMS Band Boosters, featuring volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, and ways to stay involved and support our musicians.

Latest News & Updates

Preparation for the studetns Music In Our Schools performances in March 2026 is underway. Flyers and additional details are available on the Forms & Documents page. Jazz Band and Band Fest rehearsals for February and March are also posted there.

Indoor Parents and guardians planning to chaperone should note that parent/chaperone meetings will be held prior to the first Indoor event on March 7. Meetings will take place immediately following rehearsals and will last approximately 15 minutes: Indoor Percussion: March 4 at 6:30 PM, and Indoor Guard: March 5 at 6:00 PM

Upcoming fundraisers are also kicking off soon, including Stock’s Bakery Pound Cakes (February 2–20) and Gertrude Hawk Chocolates (February 9–23). Both fundraisers will run in February, with deliveries scheduled for the week of March 23, in time for Easter. More information can be found on the Fundraising page.

Concert Band

On March 25th, the CMS 7th and 8th Grade Band and the 5th Grade Band join other ensembles in the Chichester School District and schools across the country in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM). The bands prepare for a special performance to showcase student growth and to emphasize the importance of music education in our community.

Indoor Guard & Percussion

All Indoor dues must be paid in full by Friday, February 13. If you have questions about dues, please contact Mr. Knecht or speak with your respective director.

Parent/chaperone meetings will be held prior to the first Indoor event on March 7. These meetings will take place immediately following rehearsal and will last approximately 15 minutes. Attendance is strongly encouraged, especially for anyone planning to chaperone this season.

Percussion: March 4 at 6:30 PM
Guard: March 5 at 6:00 PM

*Parents and guardians interested in chaperoning an Indoor show, should ensure their required clearances are completed and on file with the district in advance.
