Welcome to the CMS Band Beat — your home for everything happening in the Chichester Middle School Band program.

Here, students and families can find rehearsal schedules, performance dates, event updates, and announcements for all our Band, Jazz, and Indoor programs. You’ll also find a dedicated section from the CMS Band Boosters, featuring volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, and ways to stay involved and support our musicians.

Winter Band Concert – Event Recap

What a wonderful night in the CMS Auditorium! Our Concert Band students delivered an outstanding Winter Band Concert, showcasing their hard work and growing musicianship. Families packed the auditorium, and the support from our school community made the evening even more special.

Thank you to all the parents and chaperones who volunteered and helped the night run smoothly. Your support is essential for events like this.

We’re proud of our musicians and appreciative of Mr. Knecht and Mr. Cummings for their leadership and the time they invest in the program each day.

Concert Band

The CMS Concert Band is the core ensemble of our program, open to all student musicians who are developing their skills throughout the school year. Students work on fundamentals, ensemble playing, and performance preparation through daily rehearsals and sectional work.

The Concert Band performs at the Winter and Spring Concerts each year, along with additional school and community events as scheduled.

Next up is preparation for our Music in the Schools performance in March 2026.

In March, CMS joins other ensembles in the Chicheser School District and schools across the country in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM). The Concert Band prepares a special performance to showcase student growth and to emphasize the importance of music education in our community.

Jazz Band

The CMS Jazz Band is in full swing! Rehearsals are underway!

Indoor Guard & Percussion

Our Indoor season is officially underway!

Additional details, including dues, expectations, and how parents can help, will be shared soon.

Guard: The Indoor Guard season has officially kicked off with our recent opening meeting for students and parents/guardians. Information about the instructional staff, rehearsal schedule, competition dates, dues, and other important details was shared and is posted on the Forms & Docs page.

Important Note: If your student is returning to Indoor Guard, they may complete registration through FamilyID. If your family is new to Guard, we encourage you to review all available information to help you make an informed decision.
